Ellie Shafiei (Iranian-American, b. 1987) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans oil painting , and printmaking. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art after completing a B.A. in Studio Art with a minor in Art History at the University of California, Davis.

Blending classical realism with surreal and contemporary visual language, Shafiei explores themes of identity, memory, resilience, and transformation. Informed by her experience of migration, her work examines the emotional landscape of displacement, belonging, and self-reinvention. Through symbolic imagery and psychologically charged narratives, she creates paintings that invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of the human condition while celebrating endurance, hope, and the continual pursuit of freedom.
